Windracers features in Airports International on how drones are redefining emergency response

Windracers Head of Safety and Regulation Stewart Wallace has featured in Airports International discussing how Windracers ULTRA, our dual-use heavy-life drone, is supporting faster and safer emergency response operations.

In the feature, which explores the role of eVTOLS and vertiports in emergency services, Stewart highlights how middle-mile autonomous aircraft can bridge the gap between small urban delivery drones and full size cargo planes.

Speaking about the operational advantages of Windracers ULTRA, Stewart told Airports International: “If you’ve got something that needs to go 500km, we can get it there and we don’t put any pilots at risk.”

“It’s about how you scale a practical, every day, cost-effective service that helps communities – not about trying to replace helicopters.”

The feature comes as Windracers expands its humanitarian work, including a new partnership with Aviation Sans Frontières announced earlier this year to transform medical logistics in remote regions.
