Windracers highlights need for UK drone cargo investment in Air Cargo News

Simon Muderack, Chief Executive Officer of Windracers, has featured in Aircargo News calling for faster action to back the UK’s autonomous cargo drone industry.
Simon talks through the current pace of autonomous air cargo legislation, regulation and the vital role autonomous aircraft can play in transforming the way goods are moved.
He emphasised that the UK already has proven drone cargo capability but warned that without urgent action, the country risks falling behind international competitors.
Speaking about the opportunity ahead, Simon said: “Autonomous aircraft are no longer experimental. They are already delivering life-saving supplies to remote and challenging locations. The next step is scaling this technology safely and effectively to meet growing demand across defence, humanitarian, and commercial sectors.”
Simon praised the work of the Civil Aviation Authority but called for faster approvals and more flexible regulations for experienced operators.
He added: “The UK has the talent, the technology, and the operational proof. The question is not whether drones will succeed – it’s whether the UK is willing to back its own.”
