Windracers ULTRA was showcased beside HMS Queen Elizabeth during the first meeting between Prime Minister Andy Burnham and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The event highlighted the aircraft’s role in supporting Ukraine, showcasing British innovation and the potential of uncrewed cargo aircraft in demanding operational environments.
The prestigious event, held on Monday 27 July, marked the first international visitor Prime Minister Andy Burnham had received since taking office.
The Prime Minister and President Zelenskyy were hosted by First Sea Lord General Sir Gwyn Jenkins and the carrier’s Commanding Officer Captain Claire Thompson as they discussed ongoing Anglo-Ukraine support and cooperation.
The systems on display included Windracers ULTRA – engineered, manufactured and operated in the UK, ULTRA is the world’s most accomplished dual-use autonomous heavy-lift drone – which has been operational in Ukraine since 2023.
