Windracers to Attend the Farnborough International Airshow 2024

LONDON (UK) — July 18, 2024 — Windracers, manufacturer of the low-cost self-flying cargo aircraft ULTRA™, announced today that it will attend the Farnborough International Airshow (FIA) 2024 being held July 22-26, 2024 in Farnborough, England at the Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre. 

The Windracers Team will be part of the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Stand “Pioneer the Future” located in Hall 1. Windracers will also display ULTRA in Zone D of the airshow.  Windracers has been a leading participant winning projects as part of UKRI’s The Future Flight Challenge delivered by Innovate UK which provided funding to develop and show integrated aviation systems and new vehicle technologies.  At FIA 2024, the Windracers team will provide more information on UKRI-funded projects including:

• Sustainable Aviation Test Environment (SATE) – The SATE project allowed Highlands and Islands Airports Limited (HIAL), with support from partners, to create the UK’s first low-carbon aviation test centre running from a commercial airport. SATE has hosted pre-commercial demonstrations of novel aviation technologies with proven use cases to commercialise clean innovation in a real-world environment.
• Protecting Environments with Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Swarms – This project shows how Windracers ULTRA and SWARM technology can be used to conduct environmental protection missions including gathering environmental data in Antarctica and the detection and location of wildfires. Team Windracers Environmental has been selected as a Qualified Team in XPRIZE Wildfire Track B: Autonomous Wildfire Response. Team Windracers is one of 29 teams selected to advance and compete to advance to the Track B Technical Verification Round.
